Dog Days at Pride Festival 2007

“Although the day wa s hot ,we encountered a great turnout from friends of animals, owners and the community interested in our goals.”

Pet Project was well represented at this year’s Pride Festival onJune24 in WiltonManors. Thousands of visitors to the festival strolled by the Pet Project booth and learned about the major activities of this special charity–Keeping Pets & People Together. Our visitors also included numerous dogs that dropped off for a “drink” of water and a an a d a dog treat.
A special raffle was held to raise voluntary funds for the Pet Project money for services and supplies for our clients. All voluntary donations directly benefit our clients and their pets. The Robert N.DeBenedictis Foundation provides the operational funds for the Pet Project.

Thanks to this, 100% of your contributions go directly to client services. The Pet Project assists persons in Broward, Miami/Dade and Palm Beach counties with intense physical and financial burdens, who may not be able to keep, feed and care for these best friends without assistance

Food Bank Continues Special Days

Saturday is always a special day for clients of the Pet Project. The first two Saturdays of each month, the Pet Project distributes foods to clients not able financially or physically to keep their cats and dogs.
Voluntary donations are used to purchase food and litter–and these are distributed the first Saturday of each month in Broward County and the Palm Beach Counties, and the second Saturday of each month in Miami/Dade County.
For some clients who cannot come to the food bank because of special mobility circumstances, volunteers deliver food to their homes. At the food bank, beside food and treats, heart worm and flea medication were provided for cats and dogs, as well as annual vaccinations. You can become a volunteer and help with the pet food bank–we always need volunteers and delivery persons.

You can complete the application online by clicking on this link or going to our web site and selecting the volunteer button (volunteer) and send it to the Pet Project.

You can also call the office at 954.483.9925 Monday to Thursday from 10am to 3pm.

This is the first news letter from the Pet Project. This is the work of Fred Nesbitt and Scott Bond. We hope to bring you a new newsletter every two months for now.

The Pet Project is growing steadily. We have started to provide services in the Palm Beaches. This is great news because there are no other services for pets for the people that we serve.

We are always busy trying to promote the Pet Project to make more people aware of what we do and who we can help.

It is the mission of the Pet Project to help people living with HIV/AIDS or other disabling conditions to keep their pets by providing pet care and ongoing support.
